Simon works for Switch, the Swiss research and education network, and has been since 1996—most of that time in network backbone engineering, with a multi-year excursion involving building a community (IaaS) cloud (Switch Engines). He has been active in the standardization (IETF), operator (SwiNOG, NANOG, RIPE), and network (measurement) research communities (PAM, IMC...) in various roles. Recently he has been named PO of the new REIN (Research Engagement and INnovation) circle within Switch.
