RIPE 90

Accessibility

Known as “the city of the seven hills”, Lisbon isn’t considered the most accessible destination for travellers with reduced mobility. The steep roads in the historical neighbourhoods (particularly Alfama, the oldest district in Lisbon), the cobblestone streets and the narrow sidewalks can make exploring difficult for wheelchair users, as well as other travelers with low mobility. But with a little bit of planning, touring the Portuguese capital is absolutely possible for all.

Check out this official website for local tips and information for visitors whose current physical or sensory disadvantages make it challenging to move around in urban settings.

RIPE Meeting Venue

RIPE 90 takes place at the EPIC SANA Hotel in Lisbon. The meeting rooms (both the main and side rooms) are situated on the main conference floor, which is on Floor -1 of the hotel. The conference floor is designed to be accessible for wheelchair users and guests with mobility impairments.

Elevators are available to connect different floors, including the conference floor, making it easy to move between levels without encountering stairs. The conference floor can be accessed via the elevators directly from the various bedroom levels.
Ramps are available to access the stage in the main and side rooms.
